Music lovers in Bellville can look forward to a special performance celebrating the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart next month.
The Con Spirito Philharmonic will present a once-off all-Mozart concert on Saturday, April 18 at the DRC Uitsig in Ridgeworth, commemorating the composer’s 270th birth anniversary.
The programme will feature Mozart’s Requiem, widely regarded as one of his most powerful and emotional works, alongside the Flute Concerto in G and The Magic Flute Overture.
Acclaimed flautist Liesl Stoltz will perform as a soloist, while vocalists Paulina Malefane, Minette du Toit-Pearce, Sipho Fubesi and Conroy Scott are set to take part in the performance.
The concert forms part of efforts to celebrate Mozart’s enduring musical legacy, which includes more than 800 compositions.
The performance will begin at 7:30pm, with tickets priced at R220 via webtickets. Concession tickets for pensioners and students are also available.
