De Grendel Lions Club was celebrated for its exceptional service after receiving the Club Excellence Award for 2024 to 2025 from Lions Clubs International On Monday, March 23.
The announcement came during the recent Lions Zone 9 meeting, where District 410W Governor Bevil Lakay presented the award to the club.
The Club Excellence Award recognises the dedication and legacy of service within individual Lions clubs, highlighting outstanding community projects, membership growth, and operational leadership.
Speaking at the event, Mr Lakay said he was immensely proud of De Grendel Lions Club.
“I have seen firsthand the positive impact this club makes through its activities and projects,” he commented. “I always enjoy visiting, as the members are so welcoming and enthusiastic about Lions initiatives.”
Lion President Glenda Hon shared her gratitude for the recognition.
She thanked Mr Lakay for presenting the award and extended appreciation to former District Governor Jose Braga Borges for nominating the club. “This award is a humbling testament to the hard work of all our members and the wonderful community we serve,” she said.
The honour adds to De Grendel Lions Club’s reputation for commitment to community service, reflecting the passion and dedication of its members in making a meaningful difference in Edgemead and beyond.
