THE fatal shooting in Mowbray on Wednesday morning is alleged to be gang-related after a 30-year-old man was gunned down in broad daylight.
The deceased was gunned down in a hail of bullets on the corner of Victoria and Queens Street in Mowbray around 11am when he was approached by unknown suspects in a silver Suzuki, who shot him before fleeing the scene.
At the time, the man was suspected of being a taxi guard. However, a source familiar with the case and investigation told Daily Voice the man was linked to the Stupa Fancy Boys.
The source explained: “He is not a taxi guard. He is a Stupa Fancy Boy from Bonteheuwel.
“They were all in court in Wynberg [on Wednesday]. They are currently in a war with the Americans, which is why there are so many deaths all over, including Kalksteenfontein and Bonteheuwel.”
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that there are no new updates regarding the murder yet.
He did not confirm that the shooting is gang-related and reported that the motive for the attack is still under investigation.
